Zus Coffee, Solaris Mont Kiara: A Freelancer’s Haven?

,

As a remote worker, finding the perfect work-from-cafe spot is a never-ending quest. Good Wi-Fi, ample outlets, and a productive atmosphere are non-negotiables. So, when I heard about Zus Coffee’s new branch in Solaris Mont Kiara, I had to check it out. Did it live up to the hype? Let’s dive in!

First Impressions: Modern, Spacious, and Chill

Walking into Zus Coffee, I was immediately struck by its modern, clean design. The space is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seating options spread across two floors. The upper floor, in particular, feels like a dedicated workspace, with ample natural light and a quieter ambience.

The Perks for Remote Workers:

  • Plug Points Galore: Every bar stool and even some sofas come equipped with plug points. Say goodbye to outlet anxiety!
  • Blazing-Fast Wi-Fi: The free Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, perfect for video calls and daily work.
  • Jazz Vibes: Smooth jazz music plays in the background, creating a relaxed yet focused atmosphere. (Just a heads up: there are occasional ads.)
  • Order-Ahead Convenience: The Zus Coffee app lets you order and pay ahead of time, so you can skip the queue and get straight to work. On the app, choose the Pickup option and select the Solaris Mont Kiara outlet.

The Menu: More Than Just Coffee

Zus Coffee offers a decent selection of hot and cold drinks, from classic lattes to refreshing iced teas. But they also have a surprising range of food options, thanks to their partnership with Santan. Think nasi lemak, chicken rendang, and other local favorites. For a lighter bite, there are pastries, cakes, and donuts.

Things to Note:

  • No Restroom: This is the biggest downside. There are paid restrooms in the building, but it’s still inconvenient.
  • Limited Staff: During peak hours, service can be a bit slow as there’s only one staff member.

Overall Verdict:

Zus Coffee at Solaris Mont Kiara is a fantastic option for remote workers and freelancers. The ample seating, power outlets, and fast Wi-Fi make it an ideal workspace. The menu offers enough variety to keep you fueled throughout the day. Just be prepared for the lack of a restroom and potentially slower service during busy times.

Who Should Visit:

  • Freelancers and remote workers: If you need a reliable workspace with good Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets, this is your spot.
  • Students: The quiet atmosphere and abundance of seating make it a great study spot.
  • Anyone looking for a chill cafe: Even if you’re not working, Zus Coffee is a great place to relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy the modern ambiance.
